Taking a Glimpse
You go to the sink and turn on the water faucet, only for your cat to come over and drink from the running water. What’s the deal with that? Why chose the faucet when they have their own water bowl?

This tendency could be inherited from your cat’s wildcat ancestors. Drinking from a moving water source, such as a river, is safer in the wild than drinking from a stagnant water source, which could harbor bacteria and other contaminants. I guess your cat is just being cautious!

Failure of Kitty Litter
Inappropriate elimination, often known as urinating or defecating outside the litter box, is the most prevalent behavior complaint among cat owners. Understanding the underlying reasons of this condition—and how to treat them appropriately—can help cat lovers and their feline companions rekindle their bond.

Medical or behavioral factors might cause incontinence in elimination.

Stress or anxiety caused by other pets or changes in the household are common behavioral factors (moving, the birth of a child, visitors, etc.)

The first step in determining the cause of excessive elimination is to consult a veterinarian.

While many cat owners assume their feline companions are “behaving badly” when they urinate or defecate outside the litter box, the cat is usually only attempting to avoid a painful trip to the litter box.

Rolling Around
Rolling around on their back puts them in a vulnerable position, so take it as a compliment if fluffy does it in front of you! You have earned his trust and he feels safe around you. A roll on the floor indicates that he is attempting to engage you in some light play.

Oh, you’re going to use that?
Your cat loves to lay on magazines, computers, books, clothes you’ve laid out—you name it—at the exact moment you’re using it. Your cat knows that if he plops himself down on whatever you’re watching, he’ll almost certainly get some affection.
He is also leaving his scent on your belongings, as a way to claim his territory that you are indeed his.

Get Rid of It!
Your cat starts batting stuff off the table for no apparent reason, then calmly watches it fall to the floor. As a cat owner, this can be a bothersome behavior, but rest assured that your feline companion is not attempting to annoy you.

You know how cats are known for their curiosity? It’s as simple as that- he’s curious and possibly bored! Although this is fun for him, if you wish to break him of this bad habit, you should try engaging him with some new toys.

Tails that twitch
You’re watching your cat go about her business around the house when you notice a twitch near the tip of her tail. Is that typical? Yes! It most certainly is, and it could indicate that your cat is excited or concentrated. When your cat is “hunting prey” around the home, this is what normally happens. The twitching of your cat’s tail should stop once he or she has calmed down.

Kneading Cats
It can be a pleasurable feline activity when your cat puts his paws into you and massages you back and forth. Your kitty’s instinct to do this goes all the way back to its nursing days. It fostered better milk production by putting his paws on his mother’s mammary glands. When your cat does this as an adult, he is either content and displaying his happiness, or he is attempting to relieve stress, and the habit is one to help him relax. In any case, consider it a complement that you remind him of his mother!

Cats’ capacity to “comfortably” cram themselves into small spaces never ceases to amaze or fascinate us. There are plenty of comfortable places for them to rest instead, such as the cat bed you bought them. So why do they curl up in boxes, bathroom sinks, tiny baskets, and other odd places?
Small spaces make your cat feel safe and secure. If they were out in the wild, they would not want to be unprotected in an open area because this would make them more susceptible to predators. Felines also have a natural instinct to ambush. By hiding in small tiny spaces they are able to watch and observe their surroundings from a distance.

Cat Eyes
One minute your cat’s eyes are glued on you, the next he seemingly wants nothing to do with you. So what gives?

When your cat is staring you down he is probably just trying to get your attention. If the stare is intense, this “staring contest” could mean that he is on high alert about someone or a situation. It is advised to not look at your cat directly in the eyes. As with any animal, cats see this is an act of aggression in preparation for a fight.

Have you ever noticed your cat blinking slowly at you? This is referred to as “kitty kisses” by behaviorists. Your cat’s slow blinks are a means of expressing affection and letting you know that they like and trust you. They will most likely continue to blow “cat kisses” your way if you blink gently back at them.

You couldn’t get him to look at you if your life depended on it at other times. Cats, like people, value their alone time. Give him his space when he needs some calm isolation. This will increase his respect for you, and don’t worry, when it’s time for a snuggle, he’ll seek you out!

Ear-Itation
It’s time to slowly back up if you observe your kitty’s ears twitching back and forth. This is one way they show their tension or anxiousness. If their ears are slightly pointed upward, though, it indicates that they are aware and merely listening intently to their surroundings.

Cats

Chattering is number one
You’ve probably heard your cat’s teeth chattering, especially when they see a bird out the window. Your cat may be frustrated because they can’t get outside to hunt prey, according to behaviorists. They may also be a little agitated and excited.

Others believe that your cat’s odd jaw movement is a natural habit that permits their muscles to prepare for the process of killing prey. In either case, your cat’s behavior is quite typical.

Rubs
When your cat rests his head on you, he’s saying more than just hello. He’s actually “bunting,” as behaviorists describe it. Pheromones are emitted from his cranium, and it’s his method of claiming possession of you. He’s displaying pride in the fact that you’re his, just like a cat might rub his scent on furniture to indicate his territory..

Bring “Gifts” to You
There are a few hypotheses among behaviorists as to why your cat is so determined to leave you their kills. Despite the fact that this behavior may appear to be disgusting, your cat is recognizing you as a member of his group and is sharing his hunting success with you. He may be thanking you for looking after him, or he may be noticing that you pay more attention to him when he brings you rodents, birds, or insects.

If your outdoor cat is engaging in this activity, try attaching a bell to his collar to make it more difficult for him to hunt.

Non-Food Consumption
Do you have a cat who likes to chew on non-edible materials like wool, cloth, inedible plants, plastic, or metal? This could be a symptom of pica, a rare illness that affects cats. The cause is often unknown; however, mineral deficiencies, anemia, hyperthyroidism, heredity, boredom, and stress have all been suggested as possible causes.

If your cat is exhibiting pica symptoms, it’s time to undergo a thorough evaluation by a veterinarian to rule out any underlying issues.
